Our Story

Forgot your bags? We did too!
Going green is not so easy when you’re a busy mom.  We wanted to find simple ways to make a difference.   One idea was to reuse our shopping bags. Simple concept, difficult to carry out.   Bringing bulky bags into the store was impossible to remember while juggling the details of life: picking up the groceries, getting the kids to soccer, rescheduling meetings, and a million other things. Every time the grocery bagger would say, “paper or plastic?” we’d cringe, envisioning the big pile of bags left on the passenger seat of the car.

Our Big Idea
We came up with an idea to keep reusable bags in our purse, so that we wouldn’t forget them. Our first attempt was to stuff plastic bags into an umbrella pouch. Reusing the plastic bags was a great idea but we found they would break after a couple of uses and have to be replaced. One step forward, two steps back.   We spoke to Margaret’s mom, who has a passion for sewing, about making our own bags out of really durable fabric. We decided the perfect bag should be big but also compact, strong, washable, and reusable.  It certainly wouldn’t hurt if the bags were cute, too.   After countless attempts, we finally made Repax Bags: a convenient little pouch that holds four bags.

Love your planet, Love your bags
We just love our bags! They are always with us, so we never forget to grab them and can use them again and again.  Each Repax bag purchase includes a set of 4 strong, roomy bags that fit easily into a little pouch with no fancy folding required. They hold up to 20lbs each and are washable.  The bags come in five fun colors: mango, grasshopperlagoon , confetti, and carnival. You will be the envy of your fellow shoppers with your colorful eco-chic bags!  Repax bags have solved the problem of forgetting shopping bags with the added bonus of clearing your home of what we call “Mount Plastic Bag”.  We know you’ll love Repax bags too.

Be Happy, Be Green and Feel Good
Repax Reusable Bags will give a portion of profits to several worthy causes.  We will donate a portion of profits on our Confetti bags to breast cancer research.  The American Red Cross will receive a portion of profits from our Mango bags for its ongoing world wide disaster support.  The Barataria Terrebonne National Estuary Program or BTNEP will receive a portion of profit from the sales of our Lagoon bags. This program helps maintain and replant the disappearing coastal marshlands of coastal Louisiana which are the first lines of defense during hurricane season
